Super Bowl subs will be ready for pickup on Sunday, February 6, 2011. The cost is $7 per sub. Pastor Woody will have mild wings for $5.

We need adults to work with our youth. We shall meet the third Sunday of every month except for March and December. Please contact Kimberly Stoddard, if you would like to sponsor a group or an activity.

Starting in February the church will offer a new format for our youth groups. The high school group, led by Nick Hoffman will continue as it has been. Nick will have information about events and they will be listed in the newsletter and the Sunday bulletin.

The big news is that our younger youth will be meeting at least once per month, on the third Sunday of each month. Our plans will be to have a group meeting, with parents serving as hosts, meeting either in homes or at the church, or in some instances, away from the church. Pastor Woody will be there, as well as other leaders and it will be a great opportunity for out youth to gather, bring their friends, and find out what church youth groups are all about.

The first big event will be on Sunday, February 20. On that day all youth will be going to West Lafayette. What’s in West Lafayette? ICE SKATING! We will stop by McDonald’s for lunch, then skate on the outdoor skating rink for an afternoon of fun. More on this event.

So parents, mark your calendars. On the third Sunday of every month, your children are invited to meet with their friends as  the First Christian Church youth groups gear up for a fun time.

Also, be sure to check out the listings of church camps this summer. Soon we will have registration forms, and the church will contribute to the costs of all camps for its members. Fun for all, as the youth consider their “Wildereness Survival.” Check out indianadisciples.org/camp for more information.

10 youth made 20 valentines to send to our service men and women. The youth in attendance were Acelynn, Zoe, Tanner, mandy, Bethany, Lily, Ruby, Sam, Damian and Mikayla.

In December, 2010, our youth went shopping for Christmas gifts for local families. A few days later, they wrapped the gifts. Here are some photos:

Our youth did the worship service including the sermon. They helped with a beef and noodle lunch, following Sunday School. This is a fund raiser for Christmas Basket projects.

Kimberly photographed as many of us as she could (youth and adults), which is why there are so many wonderful photos in this slide show. Also shown are the decorated pumpkins from the day before. We used money to vote for out favorite pumpkins, as an additional fund raiser for Christmas Basket projects.

All youth in the church, from 1 month old to . . . whatever, are invited to come to the fellowship hall on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween. The pumpkins will be on display the following day and members can “vote” their favorite by placing coins in a cup, representing votes for the best decorated pumpkin.

After lunch on the 31st, the youth can take their pumpkins home.

Proceeds will go to the youth Christmas project.
