We are forming a new youth group for those in grades 4 – 8.

• First meeting Friday, January 13, 2012, 7:30 p.m. at Woody’s house
• (yes, its Friday the 13th!)
• We’ll choose a name for the group
• We’ll distribute a schedule of events for the next 5 months
• Food!
• Movie!
• Games!
• Lockin (stay overnight)!
• Breakfast Saturday morning
• Have your parents pick you up after breakfast

Pastor woody is leading this group with the help of others in the church, so come help wear him out!

The new group will meet about every 3 weeks.

Note: The following people went shopping: Nick & Rebekah Hoffman, Bill & Kimberly Stoddard, Ben, Damian, Catlain, Justin, Bethany and Emily. Due to other things going on, we didn’t have the lockin that night.

On Friday, December 9, our youth will go Christmas shopping to buy gifts for those in need. Then we’ll wrap the gifts. The high school youth will have a lockin afterwards.

• Meet at church 4:15 Friday afternoon
• We’ll leave at 4:30 to go to Wal-Mart to shop
• Come back to church for Pizza
• Wrap Gifts
• Those who need to may go to the Carroll basketball game
• Lockin for High School age youth.

Over and over you see the youth on Sunday mornings and ask to have them be more involved in our worship. Well, on Sunday, October 30, 2011, we will observe Youth Sunday and the youth will take over and lead the service. They are working hard on their plans and we need to show them our support.

After Sunday School that morning, we will gather in the fellowship hall for beef and noodles, raising money for their Christmas shopping event in November.

You are invited to come to the church on Saturday, October 29 to decorate pumpkins. They will be on display for the youth Beef and Noodle lunch on Sunday, and members will “vote” on the best looking pumpkin, with all proceeds going towards the youth’s Christmas project.

As you may have heard, there is a shortage of pumpkins this year, so you will need to sign up so we can purchase the right number of pumpkins to decorate. Deadline to sign up os October 25. All youth and youth-oriented adults are welcomed!

There will be a rehearsal for Youth Sunday following the pumpkin decorating party on Saturday, Oct. 29. Thanks!

On August 7, 2011, our youth groups will make a trip to Children’s Museum in Indianapolis. We will leave after worship. Lunch will be provided. Please see Nick Hoffman or Kimberly Stoddard or contact the church to sign up.

Drivers will be needed too.

June 9 – 11 Grandparents and Me (K – 3). Children from Kindergarten to age 3 go to camp, take one of their grandparents with them, and spend 2 nights at Camp Barbee. Just think of the fun you’ll have with your grand kids. Nothing can compare.

June 13 – 18 CROSS (sports) (grades 6 – 12)

June 20 – 25 Young Disciples (grades 4 – 5). It has been a long time since we sent a lot of youth in the 4 – 5 grade level to camp, but why not this year! Ask a friend (yes, we will pay their fees too) and go to Camp Barbee for 5 nights of fun and excitement.

June 19 – 25 Created to Be Me (8th grade). Created to Be Me camp will be held the week of June 19-25 at Camp Camby in Camby, Ind. (between Indianapolis and Mooresville). This camp is for 8th graders only and is focused on sexuality and faith issues.

June 27 – July 2 Chi Rho (grades 6 – 7)

July 6 – 8 New Beginnings (grades 2 – 3). This camp is for first-timers who are in grades 2 – 3 who have never been to camp. It is a fun 2 night camp and you will learn a lot about what it means to be at church camp.

July 18 – 23 CYF (grades 9 – 12)

July 25 – 30 MAD Camp (grades 6 – 12)

August 1 – 3 Grandparent and Me (K – 3)

The church will pay 100% of your camp fees, as  long as registrations are turned in by April 24 to the church. A health form needs to be turned in also. Parents, we want to encourage you to talk to your kids about camp. It is one of those things that can make a big difference in their lives. It is something every youth should be involved in.
