Hot dog roast and fishing. Fishing poles, bait and food will be provided. Contact Rhonda Hicks so she will know how much food to prepare.
Thursday night coffee café at First Christian church offers a comforting place to study with friends, a place to gain internet connection for studies after the library closes, and a place to share a snack with friends.
The “café” is open to junior high and high school youth from 7 - 9 p.m. each Thursday night during the school year.
Youth may bring laptops, study, visit quietly, and listen to music.
Coffee, lemonade and light snacks are provided.
Adults who are able to assist may contact Marge Spray, Miriam or Pastor Woody.

You are invited to a “youth summit” led by Pastor Woody. This will be a time to talk about the current status of our youth groups, do some dreaming about what could happen, and find out what the parents of our young people want with regard to our church and its youth groups.
The Christian Education Committee is invited to come and listen, and after all is said and done, come up with some detailed plans and recommendations as to the direction our youth programming will take.
Currently we have a high school youth group (CYF) that meets several times and plans many activities during the year. The JYF (younger youth) has met a few times but not on a regular basis. There is currently no middle school youth group (Chi Rho).
Our church needs to be aware of the needs of our youth, and this will be one of the ways we set a course of ministry. Our youth will also participate, telling us what they want in a youth group and how often they think it should meet. The goal is to have a planned ministry that meets the need of our youth, and the needs of their parents. So, do whatever you can to be at this youth summit, on Sunday August 22 at 5:30 p.m.
JYF will meet at the church and go to Logansport for miniature golf and ice cream. Return home about 4:30. Let Pastor Woody know if you are going.
Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF) is a youth group for those in grades 2 - 5. Friends are welcome too!

The Junior Youth Fellowship (our elementary youth group) will meet at
Pastor Woody’s and Barbara’s home on Sunday, January 31, starting at
4:30. We will pop some popcorn, have a few snacks, and watch a movie.
But what movie to watch? You can help decide. Please let Pastor Woody
know next Sunday (January 24) what movie you want the group to watch.
If its available and gets enough votes, it might be “on the big screen”
at the Slade’s.
The annual shopping trip of the TNT class and the CYF/Chi Rho is almost here. Every December, these groups purchase gifts for those who are less fortunate. Wrapping day is December 17 at 7 p.m., and delivery day is Saturday, December 19 at 8 a.m.
The youth groups will shop on December 13, 2009 leaving the church about 5 p.m.
The youth will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 in the church parking lot. This is a fund raiser.
