Come to Flora Community Park on July 4 to enjoy the 4th Annual Gospel Fest!  This FREE public concert features Resurrection, Dustin and Kaila Vargo, with comic relief provided by comedian Jack Hughes

There will be a Benefit Brunch on June 28th, following Sunday School, for Mary Hoffman. A free-will offering will be collected.

This brunch is sponsored by the Membership and Evangelism Committees. Please join us for this time of sharing, and as we enjoy this brunch, remember that we are halping our dear sister in Christ, Mary Hoffman.

Our church is responsible for delivering Meals-on-wheels February 2 - February 6, 2009. Meals can be picked up af the Senior Center at 11:00 a.m. Please sign your name on the paper on the sound cabinet at the back of the sanctuary if you can help deliver meals.

Seth Larimore is conducting a canned food drive the first 3 Sundays in November. The food drive is for HVAF which helps homeless veterans in Indianapolis. Please bring canned food to the church, it may be placed in the new addition.

July 20 - 24, 2008

This summer First Christian Church united with Flora Presbyterian Church and Cutler Presbyterian Church to sponsor VBS. Each evening the attendance grew, peaking on Thursday evening for a closing celebration with children, family and friends present to witness what the children had learned.

It takes numerous people, commitment, creativity, faith and sometimes even a tad of duct tape to make a Vacation Bible School successful. Special thanks goes to the First Christian team who served supper and snacks, led songs, guided children from activity to activity, and who served in the nursery. Those from First Christian who served during VBS were: Chris Bridge, Bev Davenport, Stephanie Davenport, Lynda Durham, Teri Larimore, Teresa McGill, Miriam Robeson, Sandy Simpson, and Pastor Sam Davenport. Serving on the VBS planning committee, as representatives from First Christian Church, were: Teresa McGill and Dale Orem. Thanks gang, for a job well done!

• The Flora churches had a meeting early in December to give out the names of local families to be helped this year at Christmas.
• The youth went shopping with money they earned from projects during 2007. They purchased toys and clothing
• First Christian church uses the Christmas offering for local outreach.
• Joretta Tinsman and her family go shopping for food and toys.
• The TNT Class gave money to Teri and Margie to shop for local families.
• The outreach commitee met on December 20 to box the food and presents for 11 families in Flora. The boxes were picked up or delivered on Dec. 22.

Thank you to all who helped by giving money to the Christmas fund, serving on the outreach committee, purchasing gifts or helping in any way!
