First Christian Church, Flora, Indiana

This years Vacation Bible School will be held at our church (with the help of Cutler Presbyterian Church and Flora Presbyterian Church) the evenings of June 10 – June 14.

We need the following helpers:

• Teachers
• Cooks
• Leaders
• Volunteers

There will be a sign-up sheet in the Sanctuary and South Entrance soon.

We need the following supplies:

• Paper towel or toilet paper rolls
• Brown grocery bags
• Newspaper

Please leave them in Pastor Woody’s office.

We are looking forward to having about 75 children attend VBS!

“Everything is Possible with God” is the theme for this year’s Vacation Bible School.

• Location: First Christian Church
• June 10 – 14, 2012
• 6 p.m. each evening, starting with supper

We will have classes for pre-kindergarten through grade 7.

• Visit the Imagination Station
• Music Shop
• Eat Supper
• Make New Friends

For two nights and three days, join other youth and adults for an in-town mission trip.

We will spend the nights at the church, and spend the days doing painting, landscaping or simple construction for someone who has a special need. Adults can join the youth during the days.

There is no cost for this.

Usually when a young person goes to camp, they are served the simplest of meals. No prime rib. No lobster. One of the most looked forward to meals is spaghetti.

To help our youth raise money for camp scholarships, we will have our traditional spaghetti lunch after Sunday School on April 15, 2012. Come support the youth as they raise funds to cover their costs of camp.

And by the way, Joretta’s spaghetti is as good as any prime rid or lobster.

Our church will be providing a community Easter Dinner at noon on Easter, April 8, 2012

It is time to think about Vacation Bible School. This year, our church is the host and we have many more responsibilities than the last two years.

To begin to organize, there will be a meeting of all in the church who would like to help plan and work VBS. It will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 4:30 in the TNT Sunday School Room.

Later in the week, on Thursday, March 15, the three churches that will do the VBS will meet to begin making plans. Your input is needed and valued.

Last Easter, we put together a beautiful living cross from your flowers that graced our sanctuary. A photo of that cross was taken and has been made into postcards.

In a couple of weeks, we will pass those cards around the sanctuary, inviting you to address a card to someone you know who may not attend church on a regular basis. This could be a mamber of First Christian Church, but we hope many will share names of neighbors, co-workers and friends who do not go to church. We will collect these cxards and mail them to your names friends, inviing them to worship with us on Easter Sunday.
