First Step Graduation May 22 7 p.m.

Category: Outreach

This is an achived (past) event

The end of the school year is nearly here for children from the youngest to college students. And on Thursday, May 22, at 7 p.m. our own First Step Pre-School will have its graduation ceremony. This will take place in the sanctuary, followed by cookies and punch in the basement. A big crowd is expected and you can help by donating cookies for the evening. There is a sign-up sheet on the sound cabinet.

We are proud of what happens in the basement of the church every weekday morning. Upwards of 28 children come her to learn and get ready for kindergarten. All you need to do is look around the basement to see some of the things they have learned. The pre-school has been in Flora a long time and we are blessed to let them come learn in our building. We thank god for the opportunity pf having His little children here. Give God the praise!

Lenten Project

Category: Outreach

This is an achived (past) event

A Lenten Project, led by the TNT class, will bring help and supplies to people in need through Church World Services. The class will begin collecting items for HEALTH KITS on the first Sunday of Lent, March 9. Out hope is to collect 50 of each of the items needed and then put the kits together to deliver to Indianapolis.

Items needed:

  • One hand towel measuring about 16″ x 28″ (no fingertip or bath towels).
  • One washcloth
  • One wide-tooth comb
  • One nail clipper
  • One bar of soap (bath size in a wrapper)
  • One toothbrush (in original packaging)
  • 6 standard size Band-Aids®

Start now on collecting these items. Bring them to the church and check the bosard to see how many of each item we still need to make our goal of 50 kits.
