Community Choir Easter Cantata rehearsal starts February 5, from 2 – 4 pm at the United Methodist Church. This year, we will be singing “As Sure As My Redeemer Lives, So Shall I,” by Tony Wood and Robert Sterling.

Please join us for Sunday rehearsals through Palm Sunday, with sunrise service performance Easter Sunday, April 8!

Our own Miriam Robeson will be directing!

Rehearsals will be Sundays from 2 – 4 p.m. at Flora Methodist church. Rehearsals will be every Sunday except February 19, and possibly one of the Sundays on either side of Spring Break (to be determined after consultation with the choir).

Final rehearsal will be Saturday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m.

The Flora Community Choir Easter Cantata wil be held Easter morning at Flora Methodist Church. Breakfast will be served following the cantata.  This year, we will be singing “As Sure As My Redeemer Lives, So Shall I,” by Tony Wood and Robert Sterling. Miriam Robeson from Flora First Christian Church will be directing.

• In general, we  rehearse the first Thursday of the month and the remaining Wednesdays, from 7 – 8 p.m.

• Choir director Miriam Robeson and the choir invite anyone who likes to sing to join us!

Miriam Robeson leads the kids. At present, they don’t meet on a regular basis, but practice songs for special events.

Next rehearsal: Wednesday, August 3 at 7 p.m.!

Our first Sunday to sing will be July 10 from 9:25 – 9:35.  

Come be a part of the Praise Team for summer worship!

• We are looking for people of all ages who love to sing and/or play musical instruments. We will sing at “gathering time” each Sunday morning for about 10 minutes beginning at 9:25 a.m. during July and August.

• Songs will include contemporary music and some old favorites!

• Rehearsal times(s) to be announced

• If you want to be a part of the praise team, have fun and lead the congregation in singing praises to our Lord (all at the same time!), come join us!

Flora’s Easter Sunday Sunrise Service, Jesus, No Other King, will be held Easter morning, April 24, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Flora United Methodist Church.

Director Joe Spence encouraged all in Flora and the surrounding area interested in singing in the cantata to participate. “I consider this to be simply a large praise band, leading all in attendance to worship in a special way,” he said. “We have ordered 50 books and would like to have to buy more.”

This program is sponsored by the Flora Ministerial Association.
